Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
EVizee ("EVizee", "we", "us", or "our") operates the EVizee mobile application and the website at evizee.co(collectively, the "Service"). EVizee is currently operated as an unregistered project by its founder; the data controller is the founder. Once formally incorporated, this policy will be updated to identify the operating entity as the data controller. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect
Account information
- Email address and a hashed password (for email accounts)
- Identifiers from Google or Apple if you sign in with those providers
- Optional profile fields: username, display name, avatar, vehicle model, supported connectors
Location information
- Approximate device location, only while you actively use the map or search for nearby stations
- Coordinates you choose to attach when submitting or confirming a station
- We do not track your location in the background
Content you submit
- Charging station submissions, confirmations, photos, and flags
- Reviews, ratings, posts, comments, and votes
- Check-in records (45-minute charging sessions)
Usage and technical data
- Request logs (method, URL, status, duration, IP address) for security and reliability
- AI trip-plan request counts for free-tier metering
- Refresh-token records used to keep you signed in securely
What we do not collect
- Phone numbers
- Background or continuous location
- Device advertising identifiers
- Contact lists, photos, or files outside what you explicitly upload
3. How we use your information
- Provide and improve the Service: map, station verification, community forum (posts, comments, votes), badges, and spark rewards
- Authenticate you and protect your account (JWT access tokens, refresh-token rotation, reuse detection)
- Process AI trip-planning requests through our AI provider
- Manage subscription entitlements via the App Store or Google Play
- Detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms
- Send transactional messages required to operate your account (e.g., security notices)
4. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as described below.
Public community content
Stations, reviews, posts, comments, votes, photos, and your public profile (username, display name, avatar, vehicle, badges, spark) are visible to other users by design. Do not include sensitive personal data in this content.
Service providers
- Anthropic (Claude API) — processes the inputs you provide for AI trip planning, review summarization, and submission enrichment
- Cloudflare R2 — stores station photos and avatars
- RevenueCat, Apple App Store, and Google Play — handle subscription billing
- Google and Apple — verify identity tokens during sign-in
- OVH — hosts our servers (Phnom Penh / regional VPS)
Legal and safety
We may disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of EVizee, our users, or the public.
5. Data retention
- Account and profile data are retained while your account is active
- Refresh tokens expire after 7 days and are rotated on each use
- Logs are retained only as long as needed for security and operations
- Community contributions (stations, reviews, posts, comments) may persist after account deletion in anonymized form, since other users rely on them
- You can request deletion at any time (see Section 8)
6. Security
- Passwords are hashed with bcrypt; we never store them in plain text
- All traffic uses HTTPS / TLS in transit
- JWT access tokens are short-lived (15 minutes); refresh tokens are rotated and reuse is detected
- Tokens, hashes, and personal identifiers are never written to logs
- Rate limiting protects authentication and other sensitive endpoints
7. International transfers
Our infrastructure is hosted in regions chosen for performance and reliability. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We rely on appropriate safeguards (such as contractual commitments with our service providers) when information moves across borders.
8. Your rights and choices
- Access and update your profile from Settings → Account in the app
- Request a copy of your account data by emailing hello@evizee.co
- Delete your account from the app, or by emailing us — we will action this within 30 days
- Revoke Google or Apple sign-in from your provider's account settings
- Disable location at the OS level — note that map features will be limited
9. Children
EVizee is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" above and notify you in-app or by email when appropriate. Continued use of the Service after the change means you accept the updated policy.
